Network Testing, Labelling and Documentation in Long Melford
Long Melford's celebrated high street and its spread of period properties - including many converted and extended homes - make network cabling a more complex task than it first appears, and proper testing and documentation is essential before any upgrade.
The older buildings in Long Melford, including its substantial Victorian and Edwardian housing stock, present real challenges for cabling: thick walls, timber frames and multiple additions over the years mean cables often take indirect routes. Without documentation, those routes are invisible until something fails. We trace, test and label every cable run, and produce a plan that reflects the building as it actually is.
Long Melford also has a number of properties used partly for commercial purposes - antique businesses, holiday lets and home studios - where a reliable and documented network supports both work and guests. A labelled patch panel and a single-page network diagram avoids repeated troubleshooting calls when a socket stops working or a new device needs adding.
What you get
- A look at the building before we quote, so the figure is based on what is actually there.
- A free written quote, with what is included and what is not.
- Work planned around the people using the building.
- A walk-through at handover and the documents for what was installed.
What is not included
Written down on the quote, so nothing on this list turns up later as a surprise.
- The internet line itself. That stays with your broadband or leased line provider, and we work with whatever you have.
- Building work such as new ceilings or redecorating. If a cable route needs it, the quote says so.
- Day-to-day support for your computers and laptops. That is your IT provider's job, and we are happy to work alongside them.
